CRSSD - The music festival that adds another shade to the colors of fall in San Diego

If the road takes you to California during an early fall and you happen to love techno music, head straight over to San Diego. This beautiful city has been the home of one of the largest techno music festivals globally since 2015 - the CRSSD Festival!

CRSSD Festival is an annual two-day electronic and techno music festival that takes place at the 12 acre San Diego Waterfront Park. It features three stages and is also known for its remarkable lineups and the delicious food, mixed drinks, and craft beer that the visitors can taste.

The birth of the CRSSD Festival

In 2014, Southern California announced the newest addition to its list of music festivals - The CRSSD Festival presented by Goldenvoice and Fngrs Crssd. The festival debuted in March 2015 in San Diego with a lineup that featured acts such as the synth-funk duo Chromeo, Pete Tong, DJ Harvey, Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex, Tensnake, and Jamie Jones.

Ever since, the CRSSD Festival takes place at San Diego’s Waterfront Park every March, serving as a platform for well-established electronic and techno music superstars, as well as up-and-coming talent.

The event also has a biannual spring edition which last year was held on March 7 and 8, just a few days before the pandemic forced the world to cancel group events. COVID led to the withdrawal of the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 editions as well.

What makes CRSSD special?

The unique and incredible sets, as well as the impressive lineups that feature the best of the best and up-and-coming talent, made CRSSD Festival what it is today.

The Fngrs Crssd promoters make sure they bring brilliant local names and renowned global artists, such as this year’s acts: ANNA, Kolsch, Sven Väth, Dennis Ferrer b2b Cassy, Kobosil, Paula Temple, Robert Hood, Township Rebellion, etc. The performances took place on 25 and 26 September and were spread across three stages: Ocean View, The Palms, and City Steps.

Meanwhile, they also allow underground artists to showcase their talents. This list includes names such as Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, Helena Hauff, Eli Brown, Channel Tres, Bob Moses, Cut Snake, Redlight, Sacha Robotti, Bedouin, Julia Govor, Solardo, Palms Trax, Kyle Watson, and Patrice Baumel.

The location itself also plays a significant role. Attendees get to enjoy the perfect mix of the urban setting and the scenic view of the sea at the San Diego Waterfront Park. Dancing to your favorite techno music tracks at sunset may sound like a dream, but it is an authentic experience at CRSSD.

What makes it even better is the fact that the festival is located in the downtown city center of San Diego, making it highly convenient and easy for the attendees to reach their accommodations.

A festival known for the music...and the food!

But did you know that CRSSD Festival is also known for the high-quality culinary experience it offers? It is located in one of the most reputable culinary regions in the US, while San Diego is famous for its food scene and 200 breweries. Having that in mind, attendees have the opportunity to taste craft beers from local breweries such as Elysian or Golden Road or even indulge in craft cocktails and sushi while tasting some of the best sushi and Korean BBQ.

All of this combined creates a memorable experience for every techno music enthusiast out there who craves the beats, the lights, and the energy one can only get at a music event such as CRSSD Festival.
